Construction Sites Halted by Some Municipalities Despite Emergency Status

Despite the Israeli government's decision to classify construction and renovation sectors as essential during emergencies, several municipalities, including Ramat Gan, Ramat Hasharon, and Rehovot, have halted construction site activities. The Association of Builders of Israel expressed concern, stating that these actions disrupt economic and functional continuity, crucial for national security. Association President Roni Brick emphasized that war extends beyond military actions and urged municipalities to adhere to government directives. In response, Ramat Hasharon's municipality stated the closure was to assess worker safety, with a reassessment planned for the evening. Ramat Gan also cited safety and resident well-being concerns during the crisis as reasons for the closure. No response has yet been received from Rehovot's municipality.
