In the first four months of 2026, approximately 270 contractors collapsed, continuing an upward trend from 2025, where nearly 800 contractors failed. Daniela Raz-Weinreb, VP of Data and Product at CofaceBDi, presented these figures at a conference held by the Association of Builders and Contractors of Israel. This 2% increase compared to the same period last year highlights the growing challenges in the sector. The complex pressures on the industry create a challenging business environment, requiring precise risk management based on data. The association's president, Roni Brick, emphasized the need for the government to prioritize the construction and infrastructure sector. During the conference, a guide for managing construction projects was presented, aiming to regulate contracts and tenders. Yehuda Leshman, vice-president of the association, noted that many collapses were due to poor management by the government and public project sponsors, underscoring the need for strict regulation.
